A man was abused and beaten by anti-Asian people on Metro 7

A man in his 30s or 40s recently shouted anti-Asian remarks at a 31-year-old man at the Queensboro Plaza station on the No. 7 subway and repeatedly punched the victim with his fist on the left side of his face. The New York City Police Department released the image of the suspect on the 2nd, calling on the public to provide clues to help the police solve the case.

Police said that at about 12:5 p.m. on July 22, a 31-year-old man was approached by an unknown man on the southbound No. 7 subway platform at Queens Plaza Station, who shouted anti-Asian remarks at the victim and punched the victim multiple times with his fist on the left side of the face before fleeing the scene. Victim suffered bruising on the left side of her face and refused medical attention at the scene. The New York City Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.

Based on surveillance, police say the suspect is a man between 30 and 40 years old, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, wearing a black denim jacket, black shorts, white socks, black and white sneakers and a white hat.
