A woman reported to the police that a man hit her with a bicycle on Sunday afternoon and then attacked her with anti-Asian language. The New York City Police Department’s Hate Crimes Special Team is investigating the case.
According to the ABC7 report, the 54-year-old woman told the police that a man used a bicycle when she was walking on the northbound platform of the subway station at the intersection of West 116th Street and Broadway Avenue on the subway at about 6:30 pm on Sunday. The handlebar knocked her down from behind. When the woman asked why the man hit her, the man responded with anti-Asian language.
The police stated that the victim suffered minor injuries to his lower back. The man then walked to the platform in the southbound direction.
The police released the surveillance image of the man today, hoping that the public can provide information to find him.
